Perhaps nowhere else in the world is bamboo used more than in the Asian continent. Taiwan is one country which has long tradition of building with bamboo, which is even today considered among the most sustainable building materials.

A Finnish architect, Marco Casagrande has come up with a beautiful structure in Taipei, which has been attracting the attention of literally everyone in the city. Featured in prominent online architecture source Architizer, the work of the architect is named ‘Cicada’.

While the structure looks great from outside, visitors will also be left spell bound, if they were to meander inside it. The filtering of sunlight through the bamboo shoots offers visitors an almost surreal experience. The interiors are decorated with colorful rocks, which further adds to the rustic appeal of the structure.
