Kalpana 2019

Sasi Creative School of Architecture, Coimbatore organized a Creative Cultural Fest named “Kalpana” for School and College students on 22nd and 23rd February 2019 at its campus at Myleripalayam. Kalpana in Sanskrit means idea, imagination and creation. The Kalpana mega cultural fest was organized to celebrate creation and culture. The cultural event,   a blend of entertainment and creativity, was aimed at bringing out the creative and innovative talents of the students to the fore.  It provided the perfect platform and setting for the participants to showcase their skills in cultural activities, both on and off-stage. The on-stage activities included Solo Dance, Group Dance, Fashion Show, Solo Instrument, Masala Band, Channel Change and off-stage activities comprised of Short Film, Carnival Crown, Cinema Poster, Photography, Paint a Mask and Flash Mob.

The inaugural function was presided over by Mr. Rajdeepan Swaminathan, Managing Trustee, Swaminathan Rajalakshmi Educational and Charitable Trust.  The chief guest was Mr. P Shyam Sundar, a renowned dancer and choreographer. Architect Mohammed Ali Sharief, Director, Sasi Creative School of Architecture welcomed the gathering.  Mr.  Shyam Sundar emphasised the importance of arts and cultural activities in the development of a well-rounded personality in students.

Around 800 school and college students from various parts of Coimbatore District participated in the two-day fest. RPM Vidyalaya School, Coimbatore won the overall trophy in the inter-school competitions and SBOA Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore came second.  Coimbatore Marine College won the overall winner’s trophy and Nehru School of Architecture, Coimbatore were declared runners-up in the inter college competitions.
