The very word “Yoga” has become synonymous with India all over the world. The rising popularity of this ancient Indian form of exercise, comprising of postures known as “asanas” has taken the world by storm. Kinathukadavu Manavala Kalai Mandram Trust in association with Shri Kumaran Thanga Maligai conducted a one day Yoga camp at SCSA on October 3rd and 4th. The focus during the two day program was on how to incorporate “Kayakalpa” in daily life. Students got to know how Kayakalpa faclitaes to improve the life of humans with constant practice. The course commenced with detailed explanation of the importance of Yoga, healthy food and lifestyle habits in life. Students were taught six exercises that are to be done in the morning and evening.

The trust members gave detailed demonstration of the Yogic poses. The participants got to know in detail about the various benefits of regularly doing these exercises, which include:-

Disease free long life and delaying of the aging process
Complete physical and mental health
Maximum benefit from exercises that involve minimal effort
Improvement of memory power
The course helped students realize the importance of physical fitness, its impact on the mental health, and how a fit body and mind is the key to succeed in todays highly competitive, stress filled corporate world.
