Urban Vision of India is a platform instituted by SASI creative school of architecture as a social outreach of the Urban design studio of 9th semester, to bring practical design strategies & ideas through thorough research and with a vision towards sustainable future of our city, Coimbatore.
Vision: As India urbanizes rapidly, cities become its economic powerhouses. This makes it essential for city managers to rethink equitable provision of infrastructure and amenities that render cities accessible, safe and inhabitable.
The urban design studio program 2021 was the year of Covid lockdown, it was a time for self reflection and introspection towards a post-Covid urban environment. The lockdown came with a lot of limitations hence these were taken as an design parameter coupled with the National Smart City project formed the crux of the design development methodology.
