ISHA YOGA VISIT- YEAR-1 FIELD TRIP (Batch- 2021)

Isha yoga is a major religious centre in Coimbatore. It is a good example of evolution and abstraction of traditional architecture into a modern context, Isha pioneers in the extensive usage of natural material such as limestone, granite , iron and copper and repurposed wood and other plant products found on site and alternative construction systems, done by  Auroville. Isha is a major tourist location and  has the scope of crowd management, their visitorship peaks during Maha Shivaratri hence it was considered a good field trip for aspiring architecture students .The students visited Isha Foundation for a one day on 26th November 2021. This field trip was coordinated by Asst Proff. Arun Kumar, Asst Prof. Dhinesh N., Assoc Prof. Gajalakshmi V.

BUILDING MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION-  YEAR-2 SITE VISIT (Batch 2020)

The second year students were taken on a live site visit to a project that was being done by Ar. Bala Damodaran and Ar.H.Pawan Kumar, as a part of their Building Material and Construction site visit. This project featured vernacular and contextual architecture so it featured a myriad of natural and artificial materials and construction techniques. Hence this project was deemed a valuable learning resource.
